Consequences

Positive reinforcement is strongly enforced in this classroom.  

I explain to the students that not meeting a classroom expectation is a choice they make, not an accident. I also explain that I realize they may not meet the expectations from time to time, but I want to fix these problems so it does not happen again. They will have a consequence if they do not meet an expectation.

If I choose to break a rule:

  • First Time

      -Verbal Warning

  • Second Time

      -Take 1 to 5 minutes in recess to practice that expectation

      -Discussion with teacher

  • Third Time

      -Take 5 to 7 minutes in recess to practice that expectation

      -Discussion with teacher

  • Fourth Time

      -Discussion with teacher

      -Discussion with parent

  • Fifth Time

      -Further consequence
